In 2018, I packed up and left my life in New York City behind and moved to Zaragoza, a city in the norther region of Aragon in Spain.

It was a roll of the dice choice to completely re-invent my life.

I bought a Super 8 camera in Prague and asked my then boyfriend to take me to a small town near Zaragoza called Belchite that was badly damaged during the Spanish Civil War. It was also the nearest village to Zaragoza, a city that has been rebuilt several times over with little history left behind. I wanted to get a real sense of rural life in Spain and this is the beginning of a film about that experience.
